![]() ![]() ![]() It's currently scheduled for release in November 2001. Rayman M is exactly what it intends to be, a very fun game for multiple players. ![]() It's not quite the epic that Rayman 2 is, but that's not the goal of the developers. It's a very simple game of deathmatch, but Rayman's solid control and excellent camera angles, which are greatly improved over Rayman 2 if the levels I played are any indication, help make for a very fun two-player contest. In the duels, you fight against another opponent using Rayman's attack, which seems a bit limited at first, but is made up for by the well designed multi-layer levels. You'll have to make tricky platform jumps, traverse big walls, climb on ropes and swing on the circle rings using Rayman's special powers. ![]() The race is pretty fun and has you try and beat your opponent to the finish line by running through classically designed Rayman levels. With a vertical split screen, you can play a couple of different types of multiplayer games, including a deathmatch type of battle mode and a race mode. However, what's best about Rayman M is that it's a lot of fun to play with another player. We knew it was based on the Rayman 2 engine and we knew that it would be pretty damn gorgeous. All-in-all, this is a gorgeoous game with the clasic beautiful design that Rayman is well-known for.īut, that's what we expected all along. The only thing missing is the realtime shadows that were in the PS2 Rayman 2 have been replaced with the cirlce shadows that were used in the Dreamcast game. The graphics seemed even more refined than before and I didn't notice any of the clipping or other graphical glitches that were noticable in the PS2 version of Rayman 2. It's every bit as stunning as Rayman 2 on PS2 or Dreamcast, and is even improved over those games in some ways. As one would expect, Rayman M is a beautiful game. ![]()
